Last nights dinner

We still have some beef in the freezer from when we bought a half a "cow":) It takes a while to eat the beast! Which is good... So I made steak and pasta salad. Below is the recipe for both.
Steak and Pasta Salad
Barbecued steak:

Ingredients:
  • 8-10 slices of steak
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup bacon fat or oil (if you fry bacon, save the fat!)
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tbs mustard
  • 4 tbs steak spice
  • 1/2 cup water

Method:

In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients for the sauce and mix well. place all the meat into the bowl and mix around until all your steak slices are thoroughly coated with the sauce. Cover bowl and allow meat to marinate for a few hours in the fridge. The longer the better.

Preheat your barbecue and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side adjusting the time according to how you like your steak prepared (rare, medium rare etc) DO NOT OVERCOOK!!!! You want your steak to remain tender! Serve immediately

Pasta Salad:

Ingredients:

  • cooked pasta (enough to feed your family)
  • raw peas, chopped peppers, chopped tomatoes, finely chopped onions, chopped pickles.
  • mayonnaise to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Rinse your pasta in cold water and drain thoroughly. In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients and mix well. Serve cold.
