This meal is a quick and cheap alternative to Hungarian beef stew using the same ingredients but with ground beef instead of stewing beef. I served it over spiral noodles and with corn on the side.
Ingredients:
~2.5 pounds of ground beef
~1 large onion diced
~1 large red pepper diced
~1 cup crushed tomatoes (canned)
~2tbs oil
~salt and pepper to taste
~1 tbs paprika
~2 tbs vegeta (vegetable seasoning~ can make it without but you'll need more of the other spices...especially salt!)
~1/2 tbs garlic powder
~water
Method:
Saute chopped onions in oil and add and brown ground beef. Do not drain the fat!!(use lean meat) Then add your peppers, crushed tomatoes, and spices. Top with just enough water to cover the meat well. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat and cook covered for about 15 minutes. Serve over pasta!! YUM:) Enjoy!!
