My hearty veggie soup : 
In a pot put: 
1.5 cups Yellow split peas
 1 large diced Onion
3 large diced Carrots
3 ribs of diced Celery
1 large diced Red bell pepper
2 medium diced Potatoes 
1 tablespoon oregano
2 tablespoons vegeta seasoning 
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon parsley flakes
Water to fill the pot 2 inches below the rim
Bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer until veggies are soft. 
Once veggies are soft add:
1 large can of diced tomatoes
Simmer for an additional 10 min 
Then Add 2 cups of already cooked barley 
To serve: 
Chop up some spinach... And put into the bottom of a big soup bowl. Add the yummy soup on top and mix before eating .
