~ barley coffee recipe~

Barley coffee

Here is a drink we like at breakfast time. It's warm, creamy and delicious! It's also safe for kids to drink and makes them feel so grown up:) There is no caffeine in this drink and yet it's still very satisfying!!
You can get barley coffee powder in your grocery store where you would buy your hot chocolate mix and regular coffee. I use the "Inka" brand but I'm sure there are others out there.

Ingredients:

~ 1 cup boiling water

~4 tbs barley coffee powder

~3 tbs sugar

~ 3/4 cup whipping cream

~ warm or hot milk

Method:

Pour boiled water into a jug and add and mix in the powder until dissolved. Next add your sugar, whipping cream and your milk. Mix well and serve while still hot. Makes one full jug.

I have so much to catch up on your blog. I have been on vacation so I missed alot. I like the barley coffee idea. My children always want to drink it so I will have to try this.

Love that daddy made her icy feet warm. So sweet.

Hey Tereza :) Nice to drop in on you and catch up on your blog. I do like your slippers! And I too have found a 'herbal' coffee alternative after being told I can no longer have coffee because of some heart problems I've been having. It's actually really yummy!! xx
